Republicans Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman are distant cousins.
The two candidates who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and running for their party’s presidential nomination.
Note that Huntsman and Romney are both ex-governors (Romney in Massachusetts; Huntsman in Utah).
Their fathers made it big in the world of business (cars and chemicals, respectively).
Then there’s the fact that both men are Mormons from large families that have crossed paths. Parley Pratt, an early Mormon missionary, is Romney’s great-great-grandfather and Huntsman’s great-great-great-grandfather. That’s how the two GOP candidates are related.
