The 2012 presidential campaign is widely expected to break all fundraising records.
The first month of President Obama‘s re-election campaign has netted $12.4 million for the Democratic National Committee, twice as much as its GOP counterparts did in April.
Part of the funds highlighted by the DNC today includes about $7 million from a joint fundraising account being shared by the party and Obama’s re-election campaign. The DNC says it has $14.8 million cash on hand through the end of April and $15.4 million.
