Democrats raised $12.4M because of President Obama’s help?

The 2012 presidential campaign is widely expected to break all fundraising records.

The first month of President Obama‘s re-election campaign has netted $12.4 million for the Democratic National Committee, twice as much as its GOP counterparts did in April.

The party is submitting its fundraising report to the Federal Election Commission.

Part of the funds highlighted by the DNC today includes about $7 million from a joint fundraising account being shared by the party and Obama’s re-election campaign. The DNC says it has $14.8 million cash on hand through the end of April and $15.4 million.
